I don’t have much of a gag reflex.  It’s something I’ve always been quite proud of.  There is about half an inch of my husband’s penis that I just can’t quite seem to manage.  It drives me absolutely insane that I can’t get that last little bit.  No matter how much I practice or do any little trick I just can’t quite seem to get it.  I’ve tried a few products in the past but most of the gels taste so awful that they literally make me gag.  Not so good if what you’re trying to do is not gag.  When PinkCherry.com sent the Pipedream Comfortably Numb Oral Sex Mints my way I was hopeful but skeptical.

WHAT IT IS

The Comfortably Numb Oral Sex Mints are small mints that you use prior to engaging in oral sex.  The recommendation is not to use more than 4 mints per day.  They contain a numbing ingredient which acts similar to a throat numbing spray you would use if you had a cough.  This allows the user to go deeper than they would be able to without use of the mints.  As an added bonus they leave a minty feel in the mouth that can be felt by the person on the receiving end.

SIZE

The mints are about average size for a mint.  They are 1/2″ long and 1/2″ wide at the base of the triangle.  I can’t recall ever seeing a triangle mint before.  I consider this a good thing because then you can’t mistake this for a regular mint if it somehow gets mixed in with other mints.

TASTE

These mints are so good!  I have the spearmint flavored ones.  They also come in cinnamon and chocolate.  They taste somewhat similar to Wrigley’s Spearmint gum if it came in mint form.  I’m very particular about mints because some taste too minty.  You know how some mints have that super strong blast of flavor that almost burns your mouth?  I hate that and this doesn’t have that.  It’s a mild spearmint flavor that’s clearly spearmint but doesn’t make you want to spit the thing out in two seconds.

IN USE

As I mentioned, I’m pretty skeptical of products that claim to numb the throat.  Most of them don’t do that and many manage to taste disgusting while they’re not working.  These won me over as plain old mints from the taste but the question still remained – how would they work in numbing?  My question was answered a few seconds in when the numbing agent started to kick in.  My throat and the back of my tongue started to feel like I had sprayed cough spray on them.  It was actually stronger than the cough spray which I always have to spray well over the recommend amount of to get to work.  With one mint my throat felt substantially numbed.

So would the numbing help me to make it that extra half inch?  As it turns out the answer was yes!  Not only that but it the whole experience a bit more comfortable for me.  I don’t find oral sex uncomfortable at all but the added numbing made everything glide with ease.  The effect lasted about 15 minutes or so which doesn’t seem like a very long time to me.  I’m not sure how long most numbing agents work to say if this is good or bad.  I know the cough sprays last less than this and I’m usually spraying them again 5 minutes later.

My husband says he could feel the mint the entire time we used this.  He said it felt “minty” which is no help at all to you guys I’m sure.  He’s not so great at communicating or expressing things.  I asked if this meant “cool” or “tingly” and he said that no it just meant “minty.”  I have no idea what that means exactly or what “minty” would feel like if not cool or tingly.  He did say that he really liked the way it felt and has been asking for me to use these every night since the first night we tried them out.

Another cool thing about these is that they work really well if you have a cough.  I have a cold right now and had the worst coughing fit the other night.  I literally could not stop coughing and felt like I was sure to start coughing up blood if I couldn’t get it to stop.  My husband recommended trying one of these.  Stopped my cough by the time the mint was halfway dissolved!  Even if this doesn’t work for oral sex for you keep it around for colds.

There is no extra packaging on the Comfortably Numb mints.  They come in a small tin case similar to what many mints come in.  The front says “Comfortably Numb Oral Sex Mints Spearmint” with a photo of spearmint leaves.  The side has the nutritional facts and ingredients.  The back has a blurb about what the product is and what it does.  It has “Pipedream” written on it and their web address.

IN CONCLUSION

I love these things!  I will be buying more when I run out of these.  They make oral sex better for me and my husband.  These are by far the best oral sex product I have tried to date.
