Jollies, now re-branded as Chavez Dezignz, is a small company based in Arizona. Jollies used to be a big deal in the sex toy world. Then production was stopped so the owner could pursue other interests. Those of us who either came on board after Jollies stopped production or just never got the chance to get one were left to hunt for them online (without much luck, I might add). Jollies recently opened its doors back up on Etsy followed shortly thereafter with a dedicated website.
My first Jollies purchase was the Jollet. I had my eye on the Thrust as a second purchase. For the Valentine’s Day holiday, Chavez Dezignz started making special edition Jollies and Jollets in pink and red coloring. Some of them even had cute heart detailing in the silicone. I love pink and I love cute, so I inquired about if the Thrust would be made in the special edition design. I was told they weren’t going to produce them that way but that they would custom design me one if I wanted. So much happiness! Not only do I get a long desired Thrust, but I get it in custom coloring! I was on pins and needles waiting for the mail to bring this package so I could see my custom Thrust and try it out.
WHAT IT IS
You’d never guess it from the name or anything, but the Thrust is designed to thrust with. It has a base as well as a handle for gripping. Due to this base, Thrust can be used both vaginally or anally. It could be great to use with a partner that enjoys performing thrusting movements or used solo. My husband is one that loves to thrust so I figured he would want to help me test this one out. I think all the hearts and glitter got to him because every time he looks at my Thrust he shakes his head at me. Oh well. His loss.
The Thrust normally comes in a choice of solid colors and then two fun options. The solid colors you can choose from are black, blue, green, pink, purple, and red. If you find solids boring you can choose from the polka dot or sparkle options. Something in the sparkle is next on my list!
MATERIAL
Thrust is made of medical grade silicone. Silicone is high in safety and easy to care for. You can read more about silicone safety and care at the Material Guide. My side note to what’s included in there is that since this is medical grade silicone, I’ve been told by Chavez Dezignz that you can use silicone lube with their toys. My advice is to spot test first before drenching the toy in silicone lube. I would also recommend using a high quality silicone lube as this lessens the chance of a reaction. I personally stick to water based for all of my toys just to be on the safe side.
The silicone of the Thrust is very firm. If squeezed it does not give in at all. It pushes hard back against me if I try to press inward on it. The material has a medium amount of drag to it. The drag creates resistance if you glide your finger down it but won’t make your finger hop. With lubrication, the resistance disappears.
Despite the firm silicone, Thrust can be bent backward and almost completely straightened forward. After straightening it and bending it any which way, it bounces back into the original shape. It’s not exactly floppy but if you move it around in your hands the shape will swing with the movement. The bendability and swing all seem to come from the bottom half of Thrust. The top half doesn’t seem to move much either in bending or with movement.
SIZE
I measured my Thrust at 7.5″ in total length without stretching it out. Of this, 5.25″ makes up the insertable length. The website lists the length at 8.5″ total and 6.25″ insertable. That’s the stretched out measurements. At the tip, the diameter is 1.25″ and the circumference is 4.25″. In the first little bend the diameter is 1 3/8″, which is the diameter listed on the site. I forgot to add that measurement on my diagram – sorry! After the first bend, the size goes down to 1″ in diameter. The base is 2.5″ across.
The size of Thrust works well for its intended purpose. I generally prefer smaller toys for thrusting with. I find I’m able to thrust faster with the smaller diameter toys than the larger ones and I can feel more of the shape of the toy. It won’t work as an insert and feel full type of toy due to the smaller size. It’s really best and what it’s best at.
The smaller size means that it could be used by those newer to penetration. It also means those that crave larger toys may be left disappointed.
DESIGN
One of the things I love about Jollies is the interesting designs and shapes of their toys. Thrust has a very interesting shape to it. The top part (before the first curve) is straight. Because of the angle of the toy, it has an angle to it as well. After this first part there is a slight hook. This hook makes an elbow like shape in the toy. From that point, the second part of the shaft continues in a curve downward. The curve is similar to the bottom half of a S curve. The very bottom comes out like a L with a hole in it. This is the part that is used for a handle.
The design of the shaft works very well for me. The handle less so.
THRUST IN USE
When I first started using Thrust, I decided I wanted to try it with the handle pointing down. This was it wouldn’t get in my way for an external vibrator. Because the bottom half will stretch, using it in this way wasn’t very effective. What would happen is that when I would pull out the handle portion would bend out with my hand which would then cause me to (for some reason) want to pull upward. Then the bottom half of the shaft would stretch out before finally the top half moved some. It happened quickly, so I could feel the movement of the top half, but I kept getting too much stretch in the handle. I had to pull too much to get a small amount of thrust, essentially.
I was bound and determined to make that position work but finally decided that it wasn’t going to. Defeated, I turned the Thrust around with the handle upward. What a difference it made! Now when I pulled out the stretch wasn’t as noticeable. The whole toy moved, not just the bottom half. The handle wasn’t going all over the place. Much better.
There were two problems I encountered using it this way. The first is, of course, that it restricts some access to using an external vibrator. It’s not impossible to use one, but you’ll need a small compact one that can be held in the opposite direction of Thrust. It can’t be like a pocket rocket that points up to the sky. I found the best vibrator to use with this was Leaf’s Life or Spirit. The second problem I ran into was that if I put my finger through the hole in the handle, I suddenly seemed to get all thrown off in my thrusting. It just wasn’t a natural position to hold it in and clearly I don’t adapt well to changes. I did finally find that if I put my thumb through it and gripped the base that I wasn’t completely awkward. I found it much easier just to grip the base and handle in my hand and ignore the hole. Also of note is that the hole just fits my finger and I have very tiny fingers.
After the drama of determining the best way to position this and how to hold it, I was able to enjoy the design. What worked really well was that because the bottom half has the bend to it, the Thrust seemed to glide along the natural curves my body takes. It bent when it needed to and then straightened to the S curve when it didn’t. Normally I prefer more rigid toys, but I really enjoyed the way this reacted to my body.
I also really liked the little elbow curve. When thrusting with this, the curve works to create a bit of pressure before the S curve drops off. It’s not pressure that hits my G spot in any way, but then I have a difficult G spot to please. I had it feel like it almost caught my pubic bone a few times and then the curve would move it out of the way of a full catch. A weird sensation that was sort of pleasurable in the oddest way.
PACKAGING
My Thrust came in a cute matching Valentine’s Day themed bag. It was tied with a red glittery ribbon. The packaging on the Jollies is pretty basic – just plastic bags and ribbon – but it keeps with the handcrafted feel of the line. If you keep everything in plastic baggies anyhow, you could use the plastic bags for storage or switch to a Ziplock baggie.
RECOMMENDATION
If you don’t mind the handle blocking clit access and a small finger hole, then this is definitely recommended. The shape of the shaft is well worth dealing with the problems that can arise with the handle. It’s probably not best for those that prefer larger sized toys. It also may not work if you know you must have something totally rigid.
IN CONCLUSION
One of my least favorite things about reviewing is having to pick a rating at the end. I keep debating not doing ratings anymore for that reason, but people seem to like a rating. I’ve spent hours debating the rating on this one and have decided I’m going to take my usual cop out route and go with a half point rating – 4.5/5. Why? Well, the handle is a pain. It blocks access to my clit which I need vibrations to. It also isn’t the most comfortable to grasp. However, I like the shape and how it feels internally enough not to want to knock a full point off for it. I can work around the handle but I can’t make a lousy shaped dildo into a better shape. I’d rather have the handle issue on an effective dildo than an ineffective dildo with a good handle, you know?
Rating: 4.5/5
Intensity: N/A
Noise: N/A
Pros: Great design and curve, good size for most users, fun color options, firm silicone
Cons: Handle doesn’t work all that well
TO PURCHASE
You can pick up a Jollies Thrust direct from Chavez Dezignz. You can also check them out on their Etsy store. A single color Thrust is $40 and one of the fun color options is $60.
SIDE NOTES
This review was supposed to be posted for Valentine’s Day, but unfortunately I got home late. It’s a day behind, but I’m still counting it as my Valentine’s Day special review.

I have a thrust I purchased when Jollies was Jollies. I found that I’m not really into thrusting toys, with this one I was told a bullet would fit in the hole. It does and if it’s a strong enough bullet, the vibrations can be felt throughout the silicone where I needed it. the hole handle then becomes a nice little clitty vibe.
I love Jollies, glad they are back, I plan on purchasing more.
Great Review by the way
I’ll have to try that! I usually don’t like my dildos to vibrate for some reason. I like vibrators, but not vibrating dildos. I know that’s strange.
Thanks!
This is adorable.
It is! I love it.
