The Dona Lace Lingerie Wash is the second Dona product I was sent from this sex shop I trust. Dona is the new bath and body brand from well known System JO. This one I got in the Pomegranate scent. I’m one that will throw lingerie in the washing machine since I don’t have anything to properly hand wash with, so I really needed this item.
The Lingerie Wash is part of the overall Dona ritual of products which includes five steps. This is part of step two – cleanse. You can mix and match or layer the scents in the ritual to your preference. They are all aphrodisiac infused. I didn’t find that I felt more sensual or that my husband was suddenly more drawn to me using these products, but then I don’t usually buy into the whole aphrodisiac thing anyhow. I’d call this more aromatherapy, which I can totally vouch for in the form of essential oils and such.
The foam created by the Lingerie Wash is really bubbly and lasts a long time. The directions say to add 1/2 cup to a gallon of water. I used much less and got a great result. The bubbles lasted the whole 5-10 minute soaking time.
The aroma was pleasant, but not exactly like a Pomegranate. It’s more like a clean green tea or cucumber melon with a bit of fruity undertone. It smells awesome, but not like a Pomegranate.
My problem come in with this product in the ingredient listing. Dona is supposed to be an all natural line with no harsh chemicals. That’s not the case with this wash. There are some ingredients that are potentially toxic if ingested in small doses and can cause chemical burn to the skin in high concentration. That doesn’t sound very natural or “not harsh” to me. Here’s my thing – I’m funny about ingredients with certain types of products (lubes, bubble baths, or anything that may get near my crotch). Generally though, I’m not all that picky. I prefer something to be natural, but if it works and it’s not, okay. Just be up front about the ingredients. If you have chemicals or nasty stuff in there, just don’t say that you don’t. I can read the ingredient listing and see what’s in there. I can Google search what the weird words I can’t pronounce are. And, yes, I will take the time to do just that if you’re claiming to be all natural.
I really love the performance of this product. I’ll probably continue to use it because it smells good and works well. I just wish they were more upfront about the ingredients in this particular item in the line not being as natural.
